Kafka's Dick
by Alan Bennett
Directed by Steve Atkins
20-24 May 2008
A lively, highly original comedy, by the famous wit and humorist. It is 1919 and the famous writer, Kafka asks Max to burn all his writings after his death. Max doesn't and proceeds to publish all his work.
The play jumps to the present. In an English suburban living room sit Sydney, an obsessive fan of Kafka's work, his frustrated wife, and his elderly father. Into their room bizarrely appear the dead but lively Max followed by Kafka himself - and his larger than life father. It seems that everyone wants to get in on the act!
A hugely funny play. As for the Dick, you'll just have to come and see it….!!
