Audition: The 39 Steps

Adapted by Patrick Barlow,

From the novel by John Buchan

From the movie of Alfred Hitchcock

“The Thirty-Nine Steps” is the famous spy adventure novel by John Buchan, set in 1935 England and Scotland, in which Richard Hannay is inadvertently involved in a murder plot and becomes a man on the run.  The story became even more famous when Alfred Hitchcock turned it into a classic thriller in 1935.

In this adaptation Patrick Barlow has taken this acclaimed British film and turned it into a stage production – using only 4 actors to play all 130 characters!   It has won numerous awards including the Olivier Award for Best Comedy - “Hitchcock meets hilarious”.

Performance dates are 26-30 November 2013.  Rehearsals will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays starting approximately end September/beginning October.
